She became interested in the artistic craft of weaving in 1980 and took weaving classes from Cordelia Coronado of Medanales, New Mexico which consisted of twelve sessions, six hours a day for a total of a seventy-two hour course. Upon successful completion of these classes she became employed by her instructor, Cordelia Coronado, for approximately a one year period.
Gloria, then decided to undertake her art skill in weaving at home and sold her finished products to the Ortega's Weaving Shop- Chimayo, New Mexico.
For approximately the past eight years she has participated and displayed her weaving crafts and products at the Spanish Market in Santa Fe, New Mexico which has become a very publicized yearly event.
Gloria creates own designs and patterns and will weave to order. weaving the patterns and specifications of the customer.
Gloria, enjoys weaving because of the unlimited creative weaving designs that she is developing and also because weaving to her is self-satisfying, and creates a motivating sense of accomplishment.
