Lipstick Sunset is 48 x 72 Trampas Vallero and made entirely of handspun and handdyed wool. New Mexico sunsets often have colors like this, and the natural churro colors gradually brighten as they move towards the center, echoing the glowing affect of the setting sun. This piece has natural grays as a background color and salmon, red, lavender, oatmeal, and black included in its design. It is made from handspun churro wool and uses natural dyes, which means that yarn in this piece uses dyes that were obtained from flowers, leaves, wood, or insects. It was woven by Lisa Trujillo who is a spinner and weaver with more than thirty years of weaving in the Chimayo and Rio Grande tradition, Lisa has won many awards at Spanish Market. It measures approximately 48 by 72 inches.
