This type of handwoven wool blanket is commonly used as a wall hanging, or draped over the back of a couch or bed. This piece, woven with undyed and hand-dyed mohair yarn, has natural dyed indigo blue as a background color and natural dyed dark red and natural white included in its design. It uses natural dyes, which means that yarn in this piece uses dyes that were obtained from flowers, leaves, wood, or insects. It was woven by Irvin Trujillo who is a seventh-generation weaver, 2007 NEA National Heritage Fellow, and recurring Spanish Market top award winner. It measures approximately 48 by 72 inches.
