Weaver Diane Beck writes : On many a morning I have driven north through the gorge of the Rio Grande to Taos. The dramatic landscape is draped in shadow, and the sun is just beginning to touch the water. On those mornings, when the stars are still fading from the sky, I have felt a powerful, unseen presence. This presence has been embodied in my weaving. She is the ancient spirit of the river, the giver of life, emerging from the star filled night to bless the canyon. This piece uses hand dyed yarns, which means that these yarns were dyed using synthetic dyes, usually a washfast acid dye. Diane is a talented and highly skilled Southwestern pictorial weaver who has also excelled in a number of other artistic mediums. It measures approximately 20.5 by 24.5 inches.
