Chimayoweavers/Centinela Traditional Arts Since 1982

Sandra Briney

I’ve been weaving since the early 1980’s, and am self-taught. I make scarves and stoles in silk, cotton, linen or rayon. I also enjoy tapestry weaving, and most of that is in wool, with either a linen or cotton warp. I dye some of my materials, creating variegated yarns, which I used in my warps, for scarves and stoles. I also manipulate some of my yarns into Ikat-style patterns in my warps. I live near Tucson, Arizona.
